Miss Holiday in Dixie & LA Jazzland 2011 UPDATE
Published by:  Website Staff |  Date: January 24, 2011

Contestants,
I only have one application for the 64th annual Miss Holiday in Dixie Scholarship Pageant and the 9th annual Miss Louisiana Jazzland Pageant to be staged on February 13 in Shreveport. After attending the Miss America Pageant, I think every young lady whether she is a senior in high school, in graduate school, medical or law school has the opportunity to become Miss America. Holiday in Dixie and Louisiana Jazzland are the last two pageants to qualify for the Miss Louisiana Pageant in June. So please get your forms in so these pageants can be a reality. Call me at 903-679-3891 or email me at annharmon47@yahoo.com as soon as possible. If you are doing another pageant, I can just pull your form from the line-up.
Thank you,

Ann Harmon
Executive Director

MISS BOSSIER CITY/MISS CADDO PARISH 2011 UPDATE
Published by:  Website Staff |  Date: January 12, 2011

Check our website for more details: Miss Bossier City

Plans are being made for the local preliminary to Miss Louisiana 2011. The pageant will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011, at the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum Auditorium on the State Fairgrounds on Greenwood Road in Shreveport, LA. Rehearsals will begin promptly once we are allowed into the building around 10:30 AM on Saturday morning with the program beginning immediately following a very short rehearsal period. All contestants should come expecting rehearsal time for a talent sound check only and be prepared to follow very simple staging for the actual pageant competition. We are being provided the venue free of charge and must vacate the building no later than 4PM; therefore, our time will be extremely abbreviated in order to benefit from the free venue. Thank you in advance for coming prepared and able to participate in a smooth and concise show. Recognizing that several local pageants are being held during the last week of competition for Miss Louisiana 2011, I am requiring that ALL potential contestants mail their paperwork to me so that I receive it NO LATER THAN Thursday, February 3, 2011. Please mail your paperwork to: Jon Ferguson, P. O. Box 49305, Denver, CO 80249. It MUST arrive by 2/3/11, as I will be departing Denver to come to Shreveport on that day and will not be back in Denver until after the pageant. I will keep updated with the other pageant directors and can exclude you as a contestant should you win another local title prior to Miss Bossier City/Miss Caddo Parish. Just remember, if you want to compete EVEN THOUGH you may win another title before 2/12/11, I still need your paperwork in hand by 2/3/11. I am very hopeful that we will have at least 8 contestants in order to crown Miss Bossier City and Miss Caddo Parish; that is why the "numbers" are so very important at the end of this pageant competition season. Thank you for your understanding. We are planning to have INTERVIEWS during the late afternoon or evening of Friday, February 11, 2011. Final arrangements will be made available to the contestants once we know how many ladies will be competing for Miss Bossier City/Caddo Parish. We are also hopeful that we can arrange a community service project scheduled for Friday, February 11, 2011, prior to the interviews. More details will be made available once the project is determined. Also, if we have enough interested Outstanding Teen contestants, a determination will be made whether or not there will be a Miss Bossier City Outstanding Teen division. Unless there are at least 5 interested teens signing up to compete, we will not have a teen division. All former Miss Bossier City or Miss Bossier Parish titleholders are invited to attend the pageant; please contact Jon Ferguson at 303-907-0483 or via e-mail at www.jonfer@sbcglobal.net for more information.
ALL REQUIRED PAPERWORK CAN BE DOWNLOADED FROM THE MISS LOUISANA WEBSITE: www.misslouisiana.org
*Please review all required forms, Children's Miracle Network fundraising requirements for the Miss division, and eligibility requirements found on the Miss LA website.
*Please refer to the home page and follow the link to contestant forms for both Miss and Teen divisions.
I look forward to hearing from ALL interested Miss Bossier City/Miss Caddo Parish contestants. Please contact me should you have any questions or concerns. I work for an airline and may be out of the country when you e-mail or call me. Just know that I will get back with you as soon as I possibly can. Since I am an out-of-state director (I work in Colorado); I need to inform you that, as winners, you must be self-reliant and self-motivated to ensure you make the most of your pageant experience! I may not be as readily available as other directors are during your year of service.
